Sõnum Seinal, “Sanoma seinällä”-katutaidefestivaali väritti Pärnun katumaisemaa elokuussa 2013. Multicoloured Dreamsin ydinryhmä toteutti festareiden pääteoksen, kirpeän humoristisen kuvauksen Itämeremme tilasta. Vanhan oluttehtaan rapistunut seinä muuntui Itämeren asukkeja kuvaavaksi merenalaiseksi maailmaksi. Seinä sijaitsee Lõuna ja Pühavaimu katujen risteyksessä. Festivaalit olivat mukava kokemus, ja nautimme ajastamme Virossa. Street art festival Sõnum Seinal coloured the city of Pärnu during August 2013.
Multicoloured Dreams core group participated in Street art festival “Sõnum Seinal” in Pärnu this August. Our mural, the main piece of the festival, is located in the city center, in the corner of streets Lõuna and Pühavaimu at the old beer factory. The main idea was to bring Baltic Sea into people’s awareness. There’s been a lot of enviromental issues with our sea for a long time. Design is humorous and a bit twisted. We enjoyed the time in Estonia and appreciate the effort of our lovely hosts who organized this event. Oranssi kaupunki

Osallistuimme Helsinki-päivänä 12.6. ydinporukallamme Prosessifestivaaleihin Suvilahdessa. Oranssi tarjosi meille pohjaksi suuren keikkatilan sisääntuloseinän heidän uusista, vielä remontin alla olevista tiloistaan. Teemaksi työlle valitsimme ‘kaupungin kaikkine mausteineen’. Kokkeja sopassa oli kaikkiaan kuusi, ja otimme maalaamiseen varaslähdön jo kaksi päivää ennen H-hetkeä. Itse festaripäivänä keikkatilassa oli kahvila ja korttipaja, ja ihmisiä kävi pitkin päivää seuraamassa maalailuamme. Ja hei, kokonaisuudesta tuli kaikkea muuta kuin vain oranssi!

On Helsinki Day 12.6. our core group took part in Process Festival in Suvilahti. Oranssi offered us a big entrance wall in their new activity centre Valvomo. Theme we chose for the work was ‘city with it’s wild spices’. Altogether there were 6 of us, and it took us 3 days to complete the work. The third day was the festival day, during which there was a café in the space, and people came in all day to watch us work.  And the final work – well, it turned out quite multicoloured!

toteutettavassa runoteoksessa käytettäväksi.

Tule pistäytymään hetkeksi tai maalaamaan antaumuksella. Työpajaohjaajat, maalit ja pensselit odottavat sinua 24.5. klo 17-20. Tervetuloa!

‘Flexible man – Joustava mies’ by Aino Lemetyinen, assisted by Gerard Cabarrocas Cerra

Since I havent found one, I decided to paint my “dream man”. He is tall and fine, and flexible. Flexible is also a word which describes him and his attitude in life. He lives a colourfull life and what he knows for sure is to RELAX! More relaxed paintings coming soon in Chile.

Bamboo Forest

We are bringing a slice of bamboo forest to Helsinki, to add some color and sunshine, but mostly to remind about the ecosystems in the other parts of the world, which is being jeopardized by industrialised living. The painting has two aims: to highlight our project of building a youth center in Cambodia and to present a prototype of  the youth centre’s wall facade. However, it was important to us that the artwork process was enjoyable; it managed to wonderfully involve the participation from people from the street.

I have been an over-achiever for too long, multitasking and never really been able to live in this moment, stopping, relaxing. This summer my life changed and I was forced to slow down and rethink my values. Downshifting in my hometown, Helsinki, opened up a door to a completely new world of details, beauty and surprises. The world, I have been too busy to see. I want to share this experience with you.
