FAQ

What is our aim?
Part of MCD’s visual movement is to transform temporary constructions and fabrications in the city into vehicles of street art. If one takes a look at the city, it is filled with construction sites surrounded by plywood partitions. These blank walls are the perfect canvas for meaningful and visually appealling street art. These Open Call-projects are completely volunteer-based.

How does MCD function?
There are two ways MCD functions:
a. MCD collects sites. Following that, there is call for artists through our Facebook page and group and works are carefully selected. The owners of the construction sites and Helsinki City Council are contacted for permissions. Further to this, MCD will seek sponsors.
b. You come to MCD. If you have a blank wall in desperate need of art or as an artist have found your perfect canvas, contact MCD. We will, then, advise on the needful.
