Lapro ja Xeugux edustavat  näyttelyssä MCD:tä suurikokoisella taideteoksella ja porilaisille nuorille järjestettävällä katutaidetyöpajalla. Näyttely on nähtävillä Porin taidemuseossa 10.2-27.5. Näyttely ja kaupunkitaideprojekti esittelee katutaiteilijoita, joiden toiminta on levinnyt ympäri maailmaa.

Nuorten katutaidetyöpajat  19.3.- 23.3.2012

Nuoret vierailevat museossa ensimmäisen kerran näyttelyripustuksen aikana 2.2. ja aloittavat omien teostensa ideoinnin ohjaajien kanssa. Intensiiviviikko Porin Veturitalleille järjestetään maaliskuussa. Veturitallien julkisivuun toteutetut teokset julkistetaan toukokuussa. Työpajat järjestetään yhteistyössä Porin kaupungin ja varaosapankki Porin seudun rakennus-kulttuuriseura ry:n kanssa.

Street art workshop for young people 19.3.- 23.3.2012

The Pori Museum Of Art will organize a Multicoloured Dreams -Street Art Workshop for young people as a part of the museum exhibition STREET ART – THE NEW GENERATION [10.02.2012 - 27.05.2012] The leaders of the workshop are Lapro & Xeugux [MCD]. In collaboration with Youth Workshop of The City of Pori – Employment and Economic Development Office | Varaosapankki Porin seudun rakennus-kulttuuriseura ry.

The youngsters will visit museum and start designing their pieces the second of February, during the building of the exhibition. The intensive workshop week at the Veturitalli will be during March and the final pieces are revealed in May.

Projektiin osallistuvat niin Kasavuoren koulu,  Kauniaisten lukio ja Gymnasiet Grankulla Samskola, Kauniaisten kuvataidekoulu, kuin K65 crew ja Grankulla svenska pensionärer.

Työmaa-aitaan jättää näyttävän kädenjälkensä vuoden 2012 aikana myös taiteilija Otto Maja suurikokoisella maalauksellaan.

Avoin äänestys maalausten teemasta oli käynnissä joulukuun ajan Kauniaisten kirjastossa, uimahallilla, kaupungintalolla, Villa Junghansissa ja projektiin osallistuvilla kouluilla. Äänestyksen teemat poimittiin Kauniaisten asukkaiden mielipidevastauksista omasta asuinympäristöstään vuonna 2011.

Äänestyksen ylivoimaiseksi voittajaksi nousi teema “Metsät” (55 %).  Toiselle sijalle ylsi “Pienipiirteiset maisemat” (29 %) ja kolmanneksi “Turvallisuus” (16 %)

Töiden ideointi ja valmistelu on jo  polkaistu käyntiin MCD:n vetämissä työpajoissa. Kevään myötä “Metsät” -teema konkretisoituu osaksi Kauniaisten katukuvaa.

The Center of Kauniainen will be full of street art this spring. In honor of Helsinki’s year as Design Capital 2012  Multicoloured Dreams has planned and organized a project that will give a colorful look to the construction site fences. MCD will hold workshops with students and seniors, who are the artists of this project.

The participants of the project are Kasavuoren koulu, Kauniaisten lukio, Gymnasiet Grankulla Samskola, Kauniaisten kuvataidekoulu,  K65 crew and Grankulla svenska pensionärer.

Artist Otto Maja will also create a huge piece of art on the fences during the year 2012.

Kekkonen, zoo or maybe the forests?

People from Kauniainen decided themselves the theme of the paintings. Open vote was held at the local library, swimming hall, City hall, Villa Junghans and at the schools that participate in the project. Vote was based on the themes that came up when local people were asked about their opinions of their surroundings in Kauniainen (in a survey 2011).

The first place went to “Forests” (55 %),  the second place to “Small featured landscapes” (29 %) and the third to “Safety” (16 %)

Ilmastonmuutos – ei paljon lämmitä

Maanantaina 10. lokakuuta vietettiin 10:10-kampanjan lanseeraamaa, kansainvälistä ilmastoteemapäivää. Teemapäivän kunniaksi Multicoloured Dreams kutsui mukaan tekemään ympäristöystävällistä kaupunkitaidetta Helsingin keskustaan teemapäivää edeltävänä päivänä.

Aurinkoisena sunnuntai-iltapäivänä paikalle saapui kahdeksan käsiparia ja syksyn lehdistä syntyi muutamassa tunnissa monikymmenmetrinen tekstiteos aitaan, joka erottaa Kaisaniemenpuiston ja Rautatieaseman ratapihan.

Ilmastoteemapäivää kunnioittavan teoksen viestiksi muotoutui “Ilmastonmuutos – ei paljon lämmitä”.

Climate change – that’s not so hot

Monday the 10th of October was an international climate day – a tradition that was started by the climate campaign called 10:10. Multicoloured Dreams wanted to honor the day and invited everybody to make eco-firendly urban art the day before.

In a couple of hours on a sunny afternoon autumn leaves turned into a sentence on the fence between Kaisaniemi park and the train rails of the Railwaystation. Eight creative minds brainstormed the message to be “Ilmastonmuutos – ei paljon lämmitä” (in English that would be something like “Climate change – that’s not so hot”)

Voittajaksi selviytyi 208 äänellä Rita Vargas teoksellaan BANG-BANG (#26). Toiseksi tuli Satu Kettusen Lentäjän tytär (#6) 183 äänellä. Kolmannelle sijalle ylsi Laura Orelman Soap Bubble Girl (#23) 170 äänellä. Kaiken kaikkiaan ääniä annettiin sähköpostitse ja Facebookissa yhteensä yli 2000.

Multicoloured Dreams palkitsee äänestyksen voittajat yhden yhteistyökumppaninsa, Helsingin Seurakuntayhtymän, tuella 300, 200 ja 100 euron arvoisilla Rauha-stipendeillä. Stipendit luovutetaan Rauha-projektin karonkka- ja palkintojenjakojuhlissa Porvoonkadun Baarissa (Porvoonkatu 19) lauantaina 20.8. Kaikille avoimet juhlat alkavat klo 18. Tarjolla on kakkua, musiikkia ja tunnelmaa. Rauha-stipendien jako n. klo 19.

Last Sunday night revealed the results for the three most liked Multicoloured Dreams art works of summer 2011.

Art work #26 BANG-BANG by Rita Vargas won with 208 votes. Second price went to #6 Daughter of an Aviator by Satu Kettunen, for 183 votes. And the third most liked piece is #23 Soap Bubble Girl by Laura Orelma with 170 votes. Alltogether over 2000 votes were given through Facebook and by email.

Multicoloured Dreams, with the support of one of the co-operators The Parish Union of Helsinki, hands out 300€, 200€ and 100€ Peace Awards to the artists. Awards ceremony will take place at the Multicoloured Dreams Party in Porvoonkadun Baari (Porvoonkatu 19, Helsinki) on Saturday 20th starting at 18:00. Everybody is welcome to join celebrating the winners and the successful Multicoloured Dreams summer! (Multicoloured Dreams will provide cakes, music and great atmosphere)

Summer 2011’s Multicoloured Peace works are ready, and it’s time for the voting! With the support of one of our co-operators, The Parish Union of Helsinki, Multicoloured Dreams is able to award three artworks of this summer’s project. The first price is 300€, the second price 200€ and the third price 100€.

You can find all of this summer’s artworks on our gallery and in Facebook. (You get the access to the Peace artwork photos by ‘liking’ Multicoloured Dreams main page first.) In Facebook you can vote by ‘liking’ your favourite artwork in Peace-album in Multicoloured Dreams page. Comments don’t count, so remember to ‘like’! Another way to vote is to send an email to multicoloured.dreams(at)gmail.com.
Mention the number and name of your favourite work, and the name of the artist in the email. The voting time is 1.-14.8.2011 and the winners will be announced 15.8.2011

Yli 40 uutta Multicoloured Dreams -teosta Helsingin katukuvaan

Helsingin keskustan työmaa-aitoihin on heinäkuun ensimmäisten viikkojen aikana syntynyt jo useita kymmeniä katutaideteoksia ja lisää on tulossa. Kesän 2011 Rauha-projektiin tuli n. 60 ehdotusta, joista reilu 40 päätyi toteutettavaksi.

Taiteilijoiden työskentelyä sekä valmiita teoksia voi käydä katsomassa kolmessa eri paikassa: Kampin Narinkka-torin laidalla, Töölönlahden rakennustyömaiden luona sekä Eduskuntatalon ja Kansallismuseon väliin jäävällä puistikkoalueella.

Heinäkuun lopussa kaikkien töiden valmistuttua teoksista julkaistaan näillä sivuilla kuvia ja taiteilijoiden kommentteja. Lisäksi elokuun aikana järjestetään yleisöäänestys, jonka perusteella jaetaan kolme Rauha-stipendiä.

Over 40 new Multicoloured Dreams artworks in the Helsinki city centre

More than 40 new street art pieces will be made to the construction site walls in Kamppi and Töölönlahti During the July 2011. Multicoloured Dreams team received over 60 proposals of which about 40 pieces were chosen to be part of this summer’s project Multicoloured Peace.

First artworks are already finished and the rest will be finalized by the end of June. Artworks can be seen on the construction site walls in three areas: Kamppi Narinkkatori, the construction sites of Töölönlahti and in the little park between the Parliament House and the National Museum.

Photos and information of the works will be published on this site in the end of July.

Multicoloured Dreams palkitsee yhden kesän 2011 yhteistyökumppaninsa, Helsingin Seurakuntayhtymän, tuella kolme Multicoloured Peace -projektin teoksista. “Rauha-stipendit” ovat suuruudeltaan 300€, 200€ ja 100€.

MCD street art awards to be given!

With the support of one of our co-operators, The Parish Union of Helsinki, Multicoloured Dreams is able to award three artworks of this summer’s project Multicoloured Peace. The first price is 300€, the second price 200€ and the third price 100€.
Awards will be given based on the audience’s opinion. Once all the artworks out on the streets are ready they will be documented and pictures published on the MCD website and Facebook page. Voting takes place in Facebook by “liking” the favorite artworks. (For those not in Facebook, voting is possible by sending a personal email with the titles of the favorite artworks.)
